Hockeymom Knits

May 7, 2008 - Grumble, grumble

TAP TAP

It's Wednesday! Woo hoo! Only 2 more days to this week. Then, the weekend is mine! This will be the last weekend where I'm not expected to be somewhere or have to do something for somebody until June. Not too far away.

HD and I joined a dart league and I have really enjoyed it; however, (and there's always a however) I have managed to either pinch a nerve, or aggravate my bursitis in my right shoulder. To the extent that if I throw even ONE dart, it hurts like a mofo. Knitting doesn't hurt, I'm a continental knitter. Thank god. I would go insane. Then last night, I managed to spill boiling water on the same hand, again, hurt like a mofo.

To cap it off, I participated in a swap and once again, I was burned. This is the third time now. I'm done. No more. I love meeting new people on the interwebs but after a while, you get a complex, you know?

Whinging aside, I am over halfway on Hypoteneuse and I've decided it's for my dear sister. She turns 50 (OMG) on the 27th and she's going to need a nice wrap to keep those old bones warm. Heh.

But HEY? You know what? The Penguins have advanced again and the first game is Friday night! Woo Hoo! Go PENS! Gotta love me some hockey.

Well, it sucks if what you want to do for fun hurts! Hope both hand & arm injuries heal fast. Oh, and I asked my son what his beef is against the Penguins. Turns out he's miffed that they named their youngest player (age 19) Captain. But he promises to throw some support their way anyhow.

I hate hearing when cool people get skunked on a swap. That's awful! Swap with me next time!

Good Lord woman, are we going to have to lock you in a padded room so you wont hurt yourself?

I've been tempted to participate in a random swap though was generally afraid what I'd send wouldn't be good enough so I didn't do it. BUT I would NEVER just not send something. That's just rude. When I see someone I know getting the short end of the knitting needle, I want to hunt down the offending party and beat them with a bag of yarn.

I'm also done with swaps. It seems like some swappers are "gimme, gimme, gimme" and not, " Gee - what can I send to my swap partner that they'll LOVE." I wish many dropped stitches for whoever it was that burned you.
